Video Gamer injuries

Video gaming injuries are on the rise. According to a recent Pew Research study, over 43 percent of American adults play video games using a computer, cell phone or game console. In the same study, 75 percent of teenage girls and 84 percent of teenage boys reported that they regularly play video games, with many identifying themselves as “gamers.” Overuse injuries in gamers are rising to epidemic levels. These injuries include Gamer’s Thumb (deQuervain’s syndrome), SI pain, tennis elbow, tension headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome and postural abnormalities. If left untreated, these injuries can become chronic and result in pain that limits daily function. I have a wealth of experience in treating both social and competitive gamers. Let’s discuss treatment options that will get you back into the game.
